On Tuesday, October 14, 2008, 112 student musicians from Downers Grove South High School auditioned at Carl Sandberg High School to participate in the 2008 Illinois Music Educators’ Association District Festivals. The music faculty, private teachers and sender school music teachers associated with Downers Grove South High School are proud to congratulate the 54 students in band, choir jazz band, vocal jazz and orchestra who have been selected through highly competitive audition to participate in the 2008 IMEA District Festivals.
Downers Grove South High School is extremely proud to host the IMEA District Festival on November 22, 2008. More than 600 student performers and more than 1,000 audience members will be on the DGS campus for this event. “We are pleased and honored to host this event” says Fine Arts Department Chair Glenn Williams. “District 99 and DGS student musicians have had a long history of success with the IMEA, and we are excited to carry that tradition strongly into the future.”
