The results of the 11th District of Illinois Congressional Art Show, sponsored by Congressman Bill Foster, were recently announced. South High School photographer Katie Turyna earned a third place award as a result of the show adjudication. Katie's piece will hang in Congressman Foster's office for the next year. In attendance at the meeting, Congressman Foster elaborated on the importance of students being able to create art in a school setting. Kudos and congratulations to Katie and her mentor teacher Michelle Lynn!
