South HS Senior selected as 2016 Golden Apple Scholar #99Learns #DGSPride @Dist_99

Congratulations to South High School senior Brandon McDaniels for his recent induction as a member of the Class of 2016 Golden Apple Scholar Program.  Brandon was one of 200 students selected because of his passion for and dedication to pursuing a career in education.  Brandon will pursue a degree in music education at Eastern Illinois University.

While at South, Brandon was drum major of the Marching Mustangs, and a member of both Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band.  Brandon will guest conduct a piece with Symphonic Band during an upcoming concert at South High School on Thursday, May 26, 2016.  As a Golden Apple Scholar, Brandon will receive robust tuition support for college, a paid summer institute experience, and he will receive mentoring and support from award winning educators as his career as an educator begins.
