The Downers Grove South High School Marching Mustangs are taking their halftime show “Beyond the Titans” on the road. They will be performing at the Bands of America Regional competition in Dayton Ohio on October 3rd.
“We are proud of the students and staff affiliated with the Marching Mustangs for taking their show to a national level by traveling to Dayton, Ohio to perform and compete at the Bands of America Regional event. We are excited to get the judges feedback and to experience the student growth that can only come from comparative analysis at this level.” said Glenn Williams, Fine Arts Department Chair at Downers Grove South.
The Marching Mustangs have already enjoyed success this season. At the Chicagoland Marching Band Festival in Wheeling, the Marching Mustangs placed 2nd out of 8 bands in Class 3A and placed 2nd out of 19 bands overall.
The Marching Mustangs will be performing in several more competitions besides the Band of America Regional in Ohio this season, including the State Marching Band Championship at Illinois State University on October 17th, and the Illini Marching Band Championship at the University of Illinois on October 31st.
The Marching Mustangs will play host to 22 marching bands at their 13th Annual Downers Grove South Music Bowl held at Downers Grove South High School on October 24th. Attendees will get to enjoy 22 halftime shows by some of the best marching bands in the area.
