College of DuPage hosted “KickstART,” a workshop and art exhibit featuring the work of area high school students on Saturday, Oct. 10, in the McAninch Art Center on the College’s main campus, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. This event was free and open to the public. Several student artists from South High School in Downers Grove participated in this exhibition.
Aimed at high school students, teachers and parents, KickstART will feature workshops, student portfolio reviews, a tour of the College’s cutting-edge art facilities and a showcase of artwork created by District 502 high school students and curated by COD Art program faculty. During the event, sessions will include “So my Kid Wants to be an Art Student” presented by COD Art Professor and Interim Associate Dean Chuck Boone, a 3-D photography workshop presented by artist and photographer Christopher Schneberger and a screen-printing workshop with artist and Interim Curator of the Carney Gallery Seth Hunter.
