Composer Don Owens and the Gaudete Brass Quintet visited South High School today as part of their ongoing residency. Professor Owens is composing a piece specifically for the GBQ and the DGS Wind Ensemble which will be premiered in Carnegie Hall in New York City on March 2, 2015. The GBQ is in residency at South High School and will be featured with 6 different ensembles in two different concerts on November 18 & 19, 2014.
Based on the sounds heard today, the upcoming performances are going to be a sonic treat for patrons in attendance!
