2018 Scholastic Art Show Opening

Congratulations to the 1,271 student artists from 30 different high schools schools who are participants the 2018 Chicagoland Scholastics Regional Art Show.  These students are supported by 130 different teachers and submitted 2,945 works of art and 75 art portfolios for adjudication.

40 South High School visual art students merited 94 awards, including 36 Gold Key Awards, 32 Silver Key Awards, 25 Honorable Mention Awards and one American Vision Award nominee.  American Vision Award nominees are considered the "Best of Show" by the judging panel and only five pieces from the entire region are selected for this prestigious honor.

Special thanks to the District 99 Visual Art faculty for sponsoring and hosting this show, now in the 9th year in District 99.  Double special shout-out to exhibition chair Mr. Marty Voelker from DGN for tirelessly promoting the work of these student artists in our region.

The show remains open from 6:30-900 PM in the main lobby at North High School until Friday, February 9, 2018.  The public is cordially invited to view the exhibition, which features some of the finest student art work the state of Illinois has to offer.
