South High School Madrigal Singers to appear at State ACDA Convention

Congratulations to the 27 student musicians in the 2014-2015 Madrigal Singers for being being selected, through a competitive taped submission process, to participate in the 2014 American Choral Directors' Association State Convention held October 24-26th at North Central College in Naperville.

"This is a tremendous honor for District 99 and for South High School." said Fine Arts Department Chairman Glenn Williams.  "It's a credit to our student musicians that the South High Madrigal Singers have been selected to perform at this state convention."

In addition to the current members of the ensemble, student musicians from 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 contributed to the process by being a part of the submitted audition tape.  Both choral directors at DGS, Mrs. Coster and Mrs. Belt-Roselieb, have played a role in the continuing success of this ensemble.

The Madrigal Singers will perform on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 10:45-11:45 AM in the acoustically phenomenal Wentz Hall on the campus of North Central College in Naperville.  The performance will feature a world premiere - a commissioned work in memory of Kelly Fullerton Snyder by composer Sean Ivory,
