The Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony from South High School in Downers Grove participated in the National Band and Orchestra Festival sponsored by Manhattan Concert Productions. In preparation for the festival experience, each ensemble received a one hour clinic/master class with Allan McMurray. Professor McMurray's discernment and ability to communicate complex artistic ideas clearly had a huge sonic imprint on the development of both ensembles. The sharing of ideas that took place in the two one-hour clinics was tremendous and transformative for the student musicians in both groups.
