Hinsdale Center for the Arts Showcases High School Artists



Artworks created by young artists from 12 area high schools are currently on display at Hinsdale Center for the Arts' (HCA) 24th Annual Invitational High School Art Exhibition. The exhibition is open through Saturday, May 7th.

A reception for the students, their teachers, families and friends will take place on Saturday, April 16 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Both the exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. Hinsdale Center for the Arts is located in Katherine Legge Memorial Park, 5903 S. County Line Rd., in Hinsdale. Regular HCA gallery hours are: Monday - Friday: 9am -7pm and Saturday: 9am - 4pm, HCA is closed on Sunday. The public may call HCA at 630-887- 0203 for more information.


Following the close of the exhibition at HCA the award winning artworks will be on display at Harris Hinsdale located at 50 S. Lincoln St. from May 9 -14. Suzanne Penn, Awards Juror for the exhibition, recognized the work of ten students for excellence. She wrote in her statement, "This year's high school show brings together an amazing variety of artistic media- all used to express the artistic vision, skill and talent of young people in our area. We should be proud to know that the arts are supported in their school curriculum and that so many have had the opportunity to develop and express their unique artistic voices in such diverse ways.
