Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the DGS Auditorium the DGS Wind Ensemble and Concert Band will present an evening of great wind band literature. Repertoire ranges from Jager's Esprit di Corps to Bach's Prelude and Fugue in Bb Major. Additionally, Ron Polancich will guest conduct selections with both ensembles. Mr. Polancich recently retired after more than 20 years of teaching at York High School, and is currently on the faculty at Roosevelt University. This concert will end with a combined rendition of The Nineties, a medley which features popular music from the decade of the 90's.
Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the DGS Auditorium will feature the DGS Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band. Featured repertoire ranges from Holsts' First Suite in Eb to VanDer Roost's Nemu Susato. The evening will conclude with a combined version of a Salute to the Beatles.
