United States Navy Band Performance at West Leyden HS 4/22

 

The United States Navy Band (Washington, DC) will perform a FREE national tour concert at West Leyden High School at 7:00 PM on Friday, April 22, 2022!

We are pleased to invite you to this exceptional opportunity to hear a world-class organization live and in person. The performance is free and open to the public. However, tickets are required in the likely scenario of audience interest exceeding seating capacity.

Tickets will be available for on site pick up (entrances 1 & 12) beginning at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 22. The doors will open at 6:15 PM and the performance will begin at 7:00 PM.

West Leyden HS is conveniently accessible via major expressways, has adequate parking, and is handicapped accessible.

Congratulations to our DGS student musicians on their recent experience at the Downers Grove Music Club Rising Stars Concert. This event featured past recipients of the DGMC Rising Stars Scholarship along with our DGS Jazz Combo. Thank you to the Downers Grove Music Club for the event  and for their commitment to music in our community and beyond.

DGS Band Booster SCHOLARSHIP Reminder

 

The DGS Band Boosters application window for Band Booster Scholarships closes soon!

 

You must be a current DGS band student to apply. Scholarships are $200 apiece and must be used for (1) private lessons, (2) summer camp, (3) marching band and/or winter guard fees. (current seniors may apply for ONE scholarship for private lessons only).

The application must be submitted by 5:00 pm on April 18, 2022.

DGS Jazz Lab Band at the Venue

 

This week the South High Jazz Lab Band performed at the Venue in Aurora, opening for the amazing Pete Ellman Big Band!  Congrats on a very swingin' affair and special shot out to Aja Unger who actually played two songs with the professional big band!
