DGS Fine Arts Spotlight - Showcasing the Talents of Ms. Kat O'Truk!

DGS Art teacher Katherine O'Truk had a busy summer preparing paintings for two art fairs. She exhibited work in a booth at Evanston Art Fair August 13th, 14th, and 15th. O'Truk created and sold a variety of paintings done in oil, acrylic, and watercolor. She also offered a few giclee prints of her paintings as well as handmade notebooks. O'Truk primarily creates figurative work that explores the balance between shape, color, and form.

"I showed my drawing and painting classes pictures of my booth set up, and I think they were pretty inspired that someone they know is doing things like this. I hope it gives students an idea about all the different places art can take them in their futures, whether as a career, hobby, or something in between," Ms. O'Truk said.  She will be exhibiting work again this coming weekend at the Port Clinton Art Festival in Highland Park on August 28th and 29th.
